Program details
Visit the main temples on the short one-day tour
In the morning, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before starting your tour. The English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel at 8 a.m. or at a time convenient to you. Before starting the tour, they will first take you to the ticket office where you can purchase your Angkor pass. The Angkor pass purchase process is quick and easy.
The starting point for the tour is Ta Prohm, a temple where tree roots have invaded the roofs and galleries of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of Angkor's most atmospheric Buddhist temples. It was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th and early 13th centuries.
The Hollywood blockbuster "Tomb Raider" (starring Angelina Jolie) made this temple famous. Once you've arrived at the site, you'll be amazed by the unique atmosphere created by this magnificent temple, half-covered by thick tree roots and vegetation.

You'll then continue your visit to the Bayon temple at the center of the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer empire under King Jayavarman VII.
This ancient city is surrounded by walls 7 metres high and 3 km long on each side, forming a perfect square. Bayon, the state temple of King Jayavarman VII dating from 1181, is one of the most mysterious temples on the Angkor site. You'll visit its magnificently sculpted central towers, which cover large, mysterious stone faces facing the four cardinal points. Leaving Bayon, you'll visit the Terrace of the Elephants and continue on to Baphoun temple, which is one of the largest temples in the city of Angkor Thom after Bayon temple. The attraction of the 11th-century Baphoun temple is a beautiful third-level view and a large reclining Buddha (70m long and 7m high) on the west side.
Near the Baphoun temple, you'll visit a small pyramidal temple dating from the 10th century, which lies inside the former Royal Palace, is the temple of Phimeanakas, literally "heavenly palace".  Built by King Rajendravarman and dedicated to the Hindu god, this small temple was once covered with golden towers. In the afternoon, you'll take a break on site for lunch. The guide will recommend a nice local restaurant in Angkor Park.

After lunch and a moment's rest, you end your visit with a magnificent temple that is the largest and most impressive temple in Angkor Park, the Temple of Angkor. Originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer empire by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, it was transformed into a Buddhist temple in the 16th century. Angkor is considered one of the world's greatest religious monuments. Once you arrive at the site, you'll be amazed by the majesty and beauty of its impressive architecture. You'll visit the epic scenes on the temple walls with a French guide. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, Angkor is the symbol of the country. The 3 towers of this magnificent temple are featured on today's Cambodian flag.
Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
